Parschen Wins First NSBA Title

NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION 


Rick Parschen of Strongsville, Ohio was victorious in the National Senior Bowling Association event at Superbowl Lanes in Canton for his first title. 


Parschen defeated Mike McCleskey of Southfield 246-222 to win the championship match and pocket the top prize of $1,000. En route to the final match he beat Larry Franz of Redford 245-160, Steve Tetil of Albion 245-201 and Steve Scherle of Canada 237-154 after qualifying eighth. 


McCleskey qualified sixth, and then proceeded to beat Steve Sears of Michigan Center 214-186, Bill Haynes of Rochester Hills 234-196 and Rick Vittone of Canada 175-163 and take home $500. 


Kevin Scott of Ferndale was the top qualifier and had the top game of 300. He cashed for $100. 


Other Oakland County seniors who fared well were Haynes for $140 and Phil Horowitz of West Bloomfield $70. 


The next NSBA event will be Aug. 13 at Merri Bowl Lanes in Livonia.
