Parshen Triumphs in NSBA Event

NATIONAL SENIOR BOWLING ASSOCIATION 


Rick Parshen of Strongsville, Ohio won his second consecutive National Senior Bowling Association title with a 280-256 victory over Jack Dalie of Springfield, Ohio at Merri Bowl Lanes in Livonia to capture the top prize of $1,000. Dalie settled for runner-up money of $500. 


Parshen was the top qualifier and proceeded to defeat Leo Scantamburlo of Riverview 221-195, Ken Kossick of Commerce Township 223-193 and Joe Krajenke of Clinton Township 237-234 en route to the championship match. Parshen also recorded the top game of the competition with the final 280. 


Dalie qualified sixth. In match play he beat Steve Jacubowski of Temperance 206-189, David Urgorowski of Grand Blanc 203-174 and Ken Wyatt of Sterling Heights 224-217 on his way to the finals. 


Kossick led the local contingent cashing for $140 along with Phil Horowitz of West Bloomfield for $100 and Bill Haynes of Rochester Hills for $70. 


The next NSBA event will be Sept. 10 at Cherry Hill Lanes in Dearborn Heights.
